3. Advertising and your consent

The app is free and funded by ads served by Google AdMob, provided for users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and elsewhere by Google LLC.

When you first open the app in a region where consent is required, Google's consent form explains the choices and lets you accept, decline or customise them. It follows the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, and you can see which ad partners are involved. No ads are requested before this step is finished.

Changing your mind: open Settings › Privacy options in the app at any time. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect processing that already happened. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads; the exact path depends on your phone).

Watching rewarded videos is always optional.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases and the optional Tide Club subscription are processed by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. Google handles your payment method and billing address; we only receive confirmation that a purchase happened, which the app checks on your device before delivering it. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app can remind you when your hearts are full, when your daily reward is ready, or after a few days away. These reminders are created on your phone and are not sent from any server. They respect quiet hours at night. You can turn them off in the app (Settings › Notifications) or in Android's settings.

6. Analytics and diagnostics

The app doesn't currently send analytics or crash reports to us or to any analytics provider. Gameplay events are only written to your device's local system log, which apps can't read from each other. If we ever add an analytics or crash-reporting service, we'll update this policy first and ask for consent where required.

7. Backups

If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include the app's game data in your device's encrypted backup to Google Drive, so your progress can be restored on a new phone. Google operates this backup for you and you control it in your phone's settings; we have no access to it.

8. Permissions the app uses

9. Who receives data

We don't sell personal data and don't share it with anyone else.

10. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), and Google also uses the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers. See policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks.

11. How long data is kept

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR (and the UK GDPR) you have the right to:

Because we don't run servers or accounts, we normally hold no data that could identify you. Most data lives on your device or with Google. Email us and we'll help with any request. For data held by Google, you can also use myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

There is no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects. Ad personalisation by Google is based only on your consent.

California and other US states

We don't sell personal information for money. Personalised advertising may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state laws. You can opt out in Settings › Privacy options (where shown) or by deleting your advertising ID in Android settings. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.

13. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. In the EU/EEA, if you are under the age of digital consent in your country (between 13 and 16, depending on the country), please ask a parent or guardian before agreeing to personalised ads. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

14. Security

The app stores its data in its private storage area on your device, which other apps can't access. Purchases are checked against Google Play's signature before anything is delivered. Communication with Google's services is encrypted.

15. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change (for example, new services are added), we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect. Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent again.

16. This website

This website has no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. When you visit it, the hosting provider GitHub Pages automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the page and keep it secure (legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider keeps these logs only for a short time, under its own privacy policy.
